Quartz is a man-made surface comprised of natural quartz mineral and proprietary resins. Quartz is non porous and non absorbent. On average Quartz can withstand about 212 degrees Fahrenheit. A trivet or a heating pad is always recommended when placing hot items on the surface, such as, crock pots, insta pots, pans from the oven/stovetop, etc. Quartz is not warrantied for fireplace applications (excluding Cambria) or outdoor applications (excluding select Caesarstone Colors). Quartz will have different warranty durations and exclusions, see your sales rep for details. Quartz comes in a variety of thickness depending on the wholesaler, anywhere between 1cm-3cm thick. Slab sizes will also vary depending on the wholesaler, please reach out to your sales rep for questions. Quartz has a variety of finishes, some are exclusive to the wholesaler. The most common Finish will be Polished or Honed/Matte. Other Finishes are going to vary in texture and maintenance. Honed/Matte and Concrete finishes usually hold dirt easier, requiring more whip downs, this does not make them more prone to staining.
If you do not see the quartz color you want in the finish you want please reach out to your sales rep to see if the wholesaler offers custom finish work. If the wholesaler does, expect longer lead times and additional fees.
